Aloe Vera commonly known as Barbados or Curacao is an ancient traditional plant that has been used worldwide for a variety of treatments. The two more pronounced uses of Aloe Vera are; using the mucilaginous gel for minor burns, abrasions and sunburn, and the thick sap that turns yellow in colour deriving from the leaves that has a laxative effect and warrants its use. Common external uses include; aiding in the healing process of scars and burns, reduce inflammation, genital herpes and seborrheic dermatitis.
