Apple pectin comes from the fruit apples. It is used as a jam setting agent but can also be used for medical purposes.

It is known to suppress appetite and is therefore used in aiding with weight loss. It also increases the level of beneficial microorganisms, such as, bifid-bacteria, lactobacillus. It eliminates Cesium Radioactive isotopes. it lowers Beta-Glucuronidose and also lowers Tryptophan Pyrrolase.
Many people use pectin as the gelling agent to make their favourite recipes. Other fruits also contain pectin such as, cherries, strawberries, peaches and citrus.
