The gum from this beautiful bonsai looking tree is extracted and burnt for its aromatic pleasure. It has been used in Ayurvedic, Traditional Chinese Medicine and extending as far as the Middle East and other tropical regions.
Its medicinal properties include increasing blood circulation, is an anti-inflammatory, treats, diarrhea, skin and blood disease, parasites, respiratory infections, hair loss ans hemorrhoids. In the West it is more commonly used to help control blood lipids, prevent coronary plaque, protect the liver and relieve pain. Also known to help ease gastrointestinal problems, help to treat the common cold and flu and to aid with those who suffer from insomnia.
