The buchu plant is native to South Africa and has been cultivated for many years for the properties within the leaves. Brought to Europe in the eighteenth century for medicinal purposes.
Buchu is used to treat inflammation, kidney and urinary tract infections as a stomach tonic. Used for suffers of cystitis, urethritis, nephritis, catarrh of the bladder. It’s a diuretic, antiseptic and an antibacterial.
