Caraway Seedis native to most of Europe, North Africa and minor regions of Asia. This species is a biennial bloomer (blooms every 2nd year) and is used for its exquisite flavour in most cuisines.

Caraway Seeds are high in fibre and helps to reduce cholesterol levels, while also containing health benefiting essential oils with volatile compounds that are active principles to aid with digestion, anti-flatulent properties, is a carminative and are known to have antioxidants. The health benefiting flavanoid antioxidants such as caroten, lutein, carotene, cryptoxanthin, zeaxanthin, help to remove free radicals in the body thus protecting against cancer, infections, ageing and degenerative neurological diseases.

Caraway seeds are a great source of minerals such as iron, copper, calcium, potassium, selenium, zinc, manganese and magnesium. Known to have Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and many B-complex vitamins; thiamin, pyridoxine, riboflavin and niacin, all found in the seeds. These are essential components that facilitate the optimum working homeostasis of the body.

Tea and tincture concoctions are also used to treat intestinal parasites, urinary tract infections, coughs, colds, bronchitis, fevers and overall boosting immunity as well as for flavour in certain dishes.
