Caraway Seed, Carum carvi, is native to most of Europe, North Africa and minor regions of Asia. This species is a biennial bloomer (blooms every 2nd year) and is used for its exquisite flavour in most cuisines. Also used in teas and tonics for flavour and other medicinal treatments.
Caraway Seeds are high in fibre and helps to reduce cholesterol levels, while also containing health benefiting essential oils with volatile compounds that are active principles to aid with digestion, anti-flatulent properties, is a carminative and are known to have antioxidants.
